Edinburgh H3 Virtual Hash # 10 Virtual Run and Zoom Circle from Sunday 7th June until Sunday 14th June Come and join us for a Virtual Hash
Below are the details of Postie and Mr.U's virtual trail. Try it any time before our normal Zoom meeting on Sunday @ 12:30
Hi, Mr Uxorious and Postie here, We have set a virtual fun trail and treasure hunt lasting a few minutes (or much more if you get lost!) Anyone can have a go anytime before the “real” run on Sunday. Answers will be announced on Sunday at about 12:30 before the circle. If there is a clear winner there may be a Virtual Trophy.
You will need a phone or tablet which can access Google Maps (not a laptop or PC as PC version of Google maps does not work for this). If you do not have a shortcut to Google maps on your device, look it up on your search engine. The trail is like an A to B hash. You click on arrows to move around, choose which to follow, junctions (more than 2 arrows) act as check points, dead ends act as falsies.
To join in: Open Google maps on your device and type Bamburgh Castle in the search box, stay in portrait view not landscape Click on the 360 degree thumbnail photo which is superimposed on the map, this takes you straight to the battlements where the trail starts Click on the arrow pointing forward to start the trail You can look around and up and down First check is a sample at the dungeon with an easy clue to get started There are 15 rooms to visit, finish is in the grand kitchen Questions: 1)How many steps down into the Dungeon? 2)Who is ”The King of Castles” artist in the picture gallery? 3) What is hanging on both sides of the exit door in the Keep Hall? 4)How many chairs are round the dining table in the Billiard room? 5) What are you urged to “TRY” in the King’s Hall? 6) Who made the pianola? 7)What time is shown on the Longcase clock in the “First Small Room” and when was it made? Good luck see you on Sunday,Postie and Mr. Uxorious.
How it works: 1. Run, jog or walk at 11am alone or with members of your household, following government guidelines. 2. Log into Zoom from 12.30pm = with whatever your want to drink from your own bucket (yeah drivers and Bambi can drink!) - remember you may get a down down so bring spare! 3. If you have a story please either: email the RA - firstname.lastname@example.org, or use any of the other million ways you can message these days, anytime leading up to the event. Or you can raise your hand between 12.30 and 12.45pm and I will take you into a virtual break out room to get the story.... 4. Down Downs around 12.45pm. Once the circle starts, we will mute whilst your GM or RA speaks and unmute for songs etc.
There are online tutorials on Zoom and you can test your audio and visual. On On Megasaurarse (Abi) and Edinburgh H3 Virtual Hash Committee
Tips: Test before Sunday if you haven't used Zoom before, but don't panic it is fairly easy to use.. There are tutorial videos in Zoom Meeting you can click on and it will allow you to test audio and visual. I advise doing this on Computer rather than your phone if you have one. If you log in and your audio isn't working: look to the bottom left of the screen and you will see a picture of a Microphone if there is a cross going across it you are on mute. Click on it to unmute. If it doesn't have the line through it and still isn't working, click on the up arrow head next to it and select the microphone you want to use. If you log in and your Camera isn't working. Look to the bottom left of screen. You will see a camera icon. Click on the up arrow head next to it and select the camera you want to use or adjust other settings until it does.
Any questions feel free to message me. On On Abi (Megasaurase) EH3 RA
