Ghost Trails
These are trails set from various locations which you can run at any time, with limited numbers,
according to government guidelines.
PLEASE CHECK SG Covid 19 travel guideline restrictions before doing these trails.
NOTE: All trails will need to be pre-booked, so you MUST register with the hare before doing the trail.
Check with the hares for the trail status.

what3words:
For those with a smart phone, what3words is an App you can download on to your phone.
It is very similar to Google Maps but is far more accurate. It was originally intended for use by the emergency services to help them pinpoint incidents anywhere in the country.
The UK is divided up into 3 metre squares. Each individual square is identified by three words.
If you put the three words into the App it will pinpoint the position to within 3 metres and, like Google Maps, you can get directions and use it to guide you to the destination in the same way you use a SatNav.
It can be voice activated. Tap on the speech bubble icon in the search bar. Say the three words, without the dots or slashes, and choose the correct result.
Details here > How to use the what3words app | what3words <

Geocaching:
We have been looking at using Geocaching locations to create virtual trails which require no travelling for recce or maintenance.
There are now over 2 million Geocaches worldwide so there are quite a few options!
We found one 900 metres from our house. Some of you may have done some Geocaching already.
If not have a look at a website called “What is Geocaching” for an overview.
To access the locations you need to download the free Geocaching app, which works for both Android and iPhone devices, create an account using your email address and make up a username and password.
We did this very easily. Search for Geocaching on Google and choose the official app, usually the first one listed. Download and install the app. You can open it from there or from your list of apps. and follow the instructions.
This gives access to details of easy to find caches suitable for beginners on a map which works very much like Google Maps. The markers are highlighted in green, there is no charge for these.
There are lots more markers which are greyed out, to get their details you have to pay (not much) to upgrade to the premium version of the app, not necessary for us at this stage.
Each Geocache has a unique identifier code starting GC.  If you click on the marker on the map there is some brief information about the cache. Be sure to click again on the information panel for more detail it is usually very interesting.  Historically there is a hidden container with some small items, you take something and leave something (and sign the book).  In urban areas this might have been raided!
To navigate to the cache first click on the navigation button. This displays an “as the crow flies” map from your location to the cache – not very useful as this could lead you to e.g., walk across a motorway, ford a river. However there is a little symbol of a car at the top of the map which opens a Google map with walking directions to the cache. When you reach the cache simply repeat the procedure to the next one and so on…
For practice choose some caches nearby, for example GC5T578, and try navigating to them from your house.

GPSHash is a free website that lets you set, walk, run, jog, bike, drive or even sail a hidden mystery trail
or course.

If you come here to do a trail, follow this link: https://gpshash.com/trail
The rules are simple: Navigate your way, using the built-in GPS on your mobile device,
to your first way-point, only then will the next way-point be revealed.
Trails consists of a multiple of these way-points, which have to be resolved one by one.
What happens at the finish, is up to the organizer of this trail.
Maybe a prize for the first one (or team) in, a hidden party location, maybe a final at this new bar or restaurant. It's all about fun!
No app to download, it works straight from your browser.
Use it for some great outdoor activity, from jogging in the park, cross-country running or hiking, bushwhacking, an Easter-egg walk, to off-road bike routes, car rallies and even a marathon with a twist. Basically, this is a GPS-enabled version of a Hash Run.
